March 2052 is a photographic exploration of the uncertainty of the future and the difficulty of imagining alternatives beyond workdays and hours spent in front of a computer. Through cyanotype and ink drawing, the piece presents a calendar of March 2052—when, theoretically, it would be my last month of work before retirement. The cyanotype image is blurred and unstable, reflecting the fragility of a promised future that is never truly secure. Rather than providing answers, the work poses a question: Is it possible to envision a future where work is not the only way to exist?
